The smart system for hairdressers
What's it about?
The purpose of this project is to design and implement a smart system customized to enhance the operations of a small business in our local area. The smart system will integrate various technologies to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and create a modern and interactive environment for both customers and employees. To accomplish this, I have conducted thorough research on the business's requirements to determine the most suitable technologies and how they will interact with each other to form a coherent system.
Problem
For this project, I selected a local hairdresser in my area with whom I had a prior acquaintance. After conducting an interview with her, I discovered that the majority of issues she encounters are on the operational side of her business. Consequently, I decided to focus the system primarily on assisting the business owner rather than the client.
Given that the business owner manages the salon single-handedly, she frequently becomes overwhelmed by the administrative tasks associated with running the business. Additionally, she tends to become impatient rather quickly and has limited familiarity with technology. As a result, it's crucial to carefully evaluate any technology solutions, ensuring they are practical and not overly advanced to accommodate her needs effectively.
observed that her current processes are entirely manual, relying on paper-based methods, and I identified a significant potential for implementing technology to improve her operations. This business appeared to be an ideal candidate for a smart system. The fact that the salon is relatively small was also advantageous as it allowed for a more comprehensive understanding of the space.
The smart system will be designed to support various aspects of the salon, including inventory management, client information tracking, and facilitating post-service cleanup. The primary goal of this smart system is to be practical and user-friendly. It is intended to serve as a valuable tool and assistant for the business owner in managing her salon more efficiently.
